How to buy a used air conditioner in Nigeria without wasting transport

ACs are heavy, expensive to move, and hard to return. Hold payment on Zweka, confirm BTU and gas, and only Accept after a cool-air test.

Used ACs sell fast in Nigerian heat — and “working perfectly” in a chat is cheap to type. Treat the purchase like a fridge or generator: inspect before Accept, with money still held.

What to confirm in the listing

  • Split vs window unit, BTU rating, voltage
  • Whether installation / copper piping / outdoor unit are included
  • City and who pays for transport — meetup vs courier
  • Seller verification

Browse: search air conditioners.

On inspection

  • Ask the seller to run cool mode; feel the supply air after a few minutes
  • Check for oil stains, bent fins, noisy outdoor unit
  • Confirm remote and manuals if listed
  • Photo the nameplate (model / BTU) against the listing

Pay on Zweka — held payment — so a dead compressor is still a dispute, not a sunk bank transfer.
