Your first week on Zweka: verify, list one item, find your first buyer

A simple 7-day plan for new accounts: get verified, publish one honest listing, use welcome coins wisely, and stay on held payment — so buyers trust you and you actually sell.

You signed up. The next seven days decide whether Zweka becomes a habit — or another app you forget. This plan matches how safe marketplaces actually work in Nigeria: no anonymous shops, held payment, and one clear listing before you chase volume.

Only verified sellers can publish. Buyers see the badge. That is the deal — and it is why verification is day one, not “someday.”

Day 1 — Verify (about a minute)

Go to Verify. Complete BVN or virtual NIN plus the selfie check. Until that lands, you cannot list — by design.

What the badge means (and what it does not): What “verified seller” means on Zweka · Virtual NIN explained.

Day 2 — Pick one thing that needs to move

Not ten drafts. One phone, gadget, outfit, appliance, or service you would actually meet about this week. Clear photos, honest condition, a city buyers can reach. Modes explained: swap, sell, auction or giveaway.

Start from Sell. Pricing help: how to price used items in Nigeria.

Day 3 — Publish and stay on-platform

Publish the listing. Tell friends the checkout line that matters: “Pay on Zweka — money is held until I confirm.” Never ask for private transfers in chat.

How money works: How Zweka holds your payment · Fees explained.

Day 4 — Use welcome coins with intent

New accounts get welcome coins for swap offers and listing boosts. Spend them on visibility for that one listing, not on experimenting with five half-finished drafts.

Optional: Instagram / TikTok packages if you want reach outside the feed — still keep checkout on Zweka (move Instagram sales to Zweka).

Day 5 — Reply fast; meet safely

Offers and chat go cold in hours. Answer with times and a public meetup spot. Checklist: safe meetup tips · meetup vs courier.

Day 6 — First handover, Accept code

Buyer pays in-app → inspect → Accept. That is when payout unlocks. Walkthrough: Accept code explained. If something is wrong, dispute before Accept — how disputes work.

Day 7 — List the next one (or browse as a buyer)

One completed trade teaches more than another week of “researching.” List the next item, or browse near you and make a small offer so you see the buyer side too.

Why this beats WhatsApp-only selling

Anonymous DMs and “send to this account” deals are how people lose phones and furniture. Zweka’s stack is verification + held payment + Accept — compare Zweka vs WhatsApp and vs Facebook Marketplace.
